Welcome!!!

Welcome Family & Friends! We thought this might be an easier way to share with you the progress with our adoption of our son's, Isaac & Cristian! I'd like to share with you our journey up until this point. God had been working on our hearts for 2 years in regards to adoption. We turned in our adoption application in the hopes of adopting an 11 year old girl named Sindy. At the time Sindy wasn't able to be adopted (and still isn't), however we were hoping maybe things would change...or maybe God had other plans for another child. Well God does have a good sence of humor! When we went on our mission trip to Casa Bernabe orphanage in Guatemala in July, he showed us not only one...but two boys for our family! We made the decision that week to adopt Isaac (13 years old) and Cristian (12 years old) who are brothers. Never did we think we would be the parents of 5 boys!!! They are such a perfect match for our family though!
It has been a very stressful and frustrating process at times. We started gathering the paperwork for our Dossier the day after we returned home in July. Tons of paperwork! We completed our homestudy and eventually after weeks, the Dossier was mailed to Guatemala. Now it is just a "waiting game" for us. I (Cindy) have never been a very patient person, so God is definately trying to teach me patience! Once we were back home, I never dreamed I'd miss the boys so much! We added international calling to our cellphone...however phonecalls proved to be quite challenging! Isaac speaks fairly good english.....but on the phone it was even challenging to talk to him. Cristian speaks almost no english. At the end of October, Matt and I went back to visit them for 9 days. It was an awesome trip!!! The boys were on their "summer break" from school, so we spent every day with them from 6am-10pm. We were fortunate to be given our own room to stay in to have family time.....what a blessing! The bonding on that visit was priceless! We just found out last week that we have been in Family Court....the social worker review was completed...and we are waiting to be released from Family Court. We really have no idea how much longer the adoption process will take. This is all in God's hands and I know that His timing will be perfect! Please pray that the rest of our "journey" will go smoothly and quickly! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer 29:11
