Silver Lining

Well we finally heard something from the US Embassy! We've "patiently" been waiting for our PreApproval since December. I've emailed them 3 times over the past week trying to find out if I could find out something about getting our Pre Approval. At first we just got automated responses, but Monday we got a real reply. Seems they want more documentation from the courts regarding the abandonment papers, or should I say more detailed papers. Ugh! Yes, frustrating for us, but the "silver lining" is that we finally know that they are working on our case! Yeah! So I'll just try to focus on the positive side that it shouldn't be long before the PreApproval comes :) So at this point it doesn't seem that the boys will be home before July. Isaac's birthday is July 3rd and Cristian's is July 30th, so it would be fabulous if they were home by then.
Talked to the boys this past Friday and it seems that Isaac got injured playing soccer. Don't know any details other than he "hurt" his right foot again (which he origianally hurt about a month ago) and also his left during the same game. He was told that he wasn't allowed to play soccer for 2 months. He loves soccer, so he's not very happy about that at all :( We have no idea what the injury is, Isaac only asked if maybe we could take him to the doctor when we come down. We are waiting to hear back from Donie to see if she knows what is wrong.
The exciting news is Jimmi and I are going down for a visit April 6-14th! More than 3 months is a long time to go without seeing your children! And this will be the first time that Jimmi gets to meet this brothers! I am so excited about that! They are so excited to meet Jimmi! Seems that we will have a 3 day adventure while we are down there :) There is a mission team of 60 that will be at Casa Bernabe the same time. They are down there to do a 3 day retreat for the staff, and then a 3 day retreat for the kids 12 and older. The kids are leaving the orphanage for their retreat. The boys are going camping up in the mountains for their retreat. And I will be the only female along! OK, you can quit laughing now! I'll do anything to spend time with the boys! Camping in Guatemala should prove to be very interesting! God is just stretching me more and more and making me step out of the box.
I just ask that you will continue to pray for the adoption process, that things will be smooth from here out....and that our boys will be home soon!
Thanks for sharing part of your day with us!
